A Culture of Inclusion In many CSI projects you see today, the inclusion of disabled and unskilled employees is viewed as a charity initiative or to meet certain CSR criteria. For The LESCO Group, including disabled bodies is in the DNA of our assembly model. Our assembly process was originally designed for people with disabilities, which means any class of labour can assemble our products. As a result, all employees are physically in control of the process at all times. In doing so, we have proudly created an environment that allows disabled people to not just survive, but thrive.
Driving Job Creation and Economic Transformation
LESCO Manufacturing is proud to assist in job creation in South Africa, a country with an unemployment rate of 28%. Our business model is both replicable and scalable, and can easily create more jobs for the locally disadvantaged young people of South Africa. nAs a result, our workforce is comprised of 50% traditionally unemployable people and 50% youth. Simply put, the more business we receive, the more jobs we can provide. At every level of business, we operate with the human in mind.
- We believe that an enabled society, is a sustainable society -
LESCO Manufacturing is a proud partner of Afrika Tikkun. Together, we are addressing the unemployment crisis in South Africa through economic empowerment and sustainable job creation.
